  2. Living simply is the richest and deepest life that I can imagine. I think people complicate their lives and miss the essence, because they are not aware that life offers so much, free for the taking–and so they spend their lives chasing satisfaction as if it were out there somewhere.

I shouldn’t say “free for the taking” really, because there is a price to pay. We pay with awareness, acceptance, creativity, and other good, enjoyable, and easily affordable human qualities.

It is very odd, that the simplest and most powerful way to live a life that is rich in texture and satisfaction, is rarely practiced.

    @John
When I twice faced death and lived my whole focus changed. Every flower I smelled was the most beautifully scented one I had ever experienced. Every cup of coffee and chat I had with a friend became special. Now when I note that I am needlessly complicating my life rather than just living it and loving every minute of it, I recall how I felt in my “come alive” moments and I’m back on track living the simple life again.

Loved the story. Found it touching, direct and thoughtful.

Was unable to bear the bombastic, over-produced music, representative (to me) of fake sentiment and Evangelical mega-churches. However, the piece works just fine if you turn OFF the sound.

    Pretty Pix too!

You are a source of very unusual food for thought, TT.

I’m with you on the music. It was so overblown I had my speakers turned down to minimal. But the message was clear and well presented, and the visuals were okay too.

Live simply ~ Care deeply ~ Give generously

Thanks for the visit and comment too.

    Wow!

That was the first word I uttered after watching the video.

Firstly, I loved the music! I was expecting a slow instrumental ballad; instead, it was drum-driven with heavy orchestration. I also loved the images which used a lot of sunsets. I loved sunsets.

The video is a very good reminder that what we have in the material sense does not compare to the happiness and fulfillment that we get from having a “full life.” The modern generation has been trained on “winning,” “getting the best,” and “being the best,” without even realizing that their lives are being wasted in the process. The emphasis on “the things that matter” has been lost.

    Thanks for sharing this video!
    Cheers!

I’m so glad you liked it but I can’t say I share your appreciation for the music. The kind of societies we live live in and the way we are “molded” is as you have said. However, once one becomes aware and conscious they recognize living simply, caring deeply and giving generously is the only way to live.
Thank you for sharing what you got from the video.
      Peace

    Loved it !
I knew right away what the message was going to be, but it’s a message we all need to be reminded of in this crazy, mixed-up world in which we live.
(I actually thought the music went well with it, just too loud).
