Several years ago we had to put our little chihuahua/papillon to sleep after 12 years. It was very hard and I still think about her from time to time. People sometimes find it hard to understand how you can become so attached to a pet, but the fact remains they do indeed become part of the family.

We have another dog now (inherited, kind of sort of) and she is very much a part of the household. Maybe it is too soon for that right now, but life goes on and what better way to celebrate that fact than with a new friend, four-legged or otherwise.

TimeTheif, I am sorry for that. Pets are great companions and 14 years are not that easy but still I hope you’ll overcome it. Are you planning to get a new dog? It helps even if I am a cat lover myself.

I noticed the Carl Jung quote in the page header. I just started reading a book, “Deciphering the Cosmic Number: The strange friendship of Wolfgang Pauli and Carl Jung”. I’m not to far into it yet but learning a short history of Carl Jung was interesting. Did you know of his “fur coat ladies”?
