These are the hands

weddinghands

These are the hands of your best friend holding yours on your wedding day

as you promise to love each other all the days of your life.

These are the hands that will work along side of yours as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry and share your innermost secrets and dreams.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through theĀ  years for a lifetime.

~~~~~~~~
Together as a team everything you wish can be realized.
May the hands we see before us today always be held by one another.
I married my best friend.
Discussion question:
Is your partner your best friend?
  1. Oh yes…my partner was my best friend before he was even my partner. That’s a recipe for success. :) Too many people don’t seem to follow the recipe, unfortunately, leaving a bad taste in their mouths.
  2. Beautiful.
    My situation is the same. My husband and I were best friends before we became lovers and later married. We were so close and knew so much about each other that becoming lovers seemed very natural.
    Yes it was a beautiful service that was very meaningful. Thanks for reading and commenting.
  5. Absolutely. Les is my best friend as I am his. We are very lucky to have this, timethief–so many people are not.
    For me, it came down to becoming my own best friend first–before I could accomplish that with another person.
    This post was so beautiful.
  6. Cornelia (my wife) is not only my best friend, she is my lover, my editor, my boss (sort of), my confidant, and my best example of acceptance and forgiveness.
    Thanks timethief for giving me the opportunity to say that. I like saying it!
    Peace — jb
  7. A truly beautiful post. And to answer your question, yes he is. He is my everything…
    Thanks for reading my post and for commenting too. I’m glad you liked it and I’m glad you have a great partnership going too. Best wishes for a happy and healthy future together.
    I like bragging about my partner too. As our anniversary was approaching, I found myself reflecting on how happy I am about the decision I made years ago, so I blogged this tiny tribute to my best friend, lover, confidant and business partner.
  10. This is a beautiful posting. Yes. I have been very lucky - my partner is my best friend and has been for 29 years. Our favorite songs are ‘make of our hands one hand’ from west side story. . . and, well ‘we won’t get fooled again’ by the who.
  11. This is a test comment to see if the commentluv plugin works. Rats! It’s not working so it’s back to the drawing board time.
    Hello there. Thanks for reading and for commenting too. We have been married for just a little longer than you have been. In my case I don’t attribute this to luck. My best friend was very persistent and would not take “no” for an answer. I was very picky and he met all the criteria so I finally caved in. lol :)
  13. This is very sweet and deeply touching. I hope to one day be blessed with something like this, my last one didn’t work out too well, but hopefully the next lady will be the one!
  14. @Tony
    I hope the next lady for you will be the right one too. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
  15. My first husband was my best friend, but we didn’t cherish each other. Too young… Now my second husband of 20 years IS my best friend in every way and I am so blessed to have him. Also my daughter just got married a week ago so I’m definitely sending this blog entry link to her. Thanks!
    I’m glad to hear that you made the correct choice the second time around and happy to hear you think there’s enough value in the post to send the link to your daughter. Having a daughter preparing to get married can be a very crazy time. Everything to do with weddings can easily become LARGER than real life. Best wishes to the bride and groom and to you as well.
