Battered and Bruised

Update: I am recovering from a fall. I fell because I wasn’t looking where I was going. I did a full body slam off the deck and face planted into the edge of a very large and solid stoneware planter. Luckily I have no broken bones. However, I do have lots of face, arm and rib bruising, fat lip, black eye and two dislocated vertebrae in my neck.

In one week’s time I must leave to attend my sister’s wedding in another province. I am behind on work, housework, blogging, reading blogs and commenting and I do not expect that I will catch up for at least the next 3 weeks. :(

Tomorrow I will post my story of what happened to me this week. Then I will explain and why I have not been reading blogs and why I am am behind on responding to comments. Tonight I need to get some sleep.  Sweet dreams readers.

  2. Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear about your fall. Take it easy so you can enjoy your sister’s wedding. A clean house is so over rated :)

  3. Welcome to the Invalids’ Club,
    TT. In fleeing 2 California
fires, my bad back went out on
my second trip to Ft. Bragg, on
the coast, to get away from the \
smoke. This was 3 weeks ago,
and I have spent most of my time
on a heating pad, in bed, ever
since. Am only able to spend
about 1 hour per day on the
    internet now. Am wondering if
I will ever be able to get back
    to full-time blogging.

Oh, well, with a little luck,
Maybe one of us will make it.
With a lot of luck, both of us.

  4. My friend I am so sorry to hear about your fall. Please feel better soon. You certainly have a full plate for the next few weeks.

  6. Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry to hear about this. Hope you’re okay!

  7. Just read that you are back at the hospital for more tests. Your well-being is my meditation this afternoon.

Eight years ago I was walking our crazy male Old English Sheepdog when he saw something that interested him and he exploded into a sprint that pulled me into a flat fall on the sidewalk, forehead first. As I was still holding his leash there was nothing to break the fall. The concussion was horrible and took months to climb out of the shakiness. It’s amazing how hurt and miserable a fall makes you, even without broken bones. ..

  8. Oh my dear TT, due my rib cracking I’ve been hopelessly behind myself and had not read this yet. I am so sorry that you are suffering this — my god what a nightmare fall. I can’t believe that in a split second our lives can be turned upside down. I cracked my rib by opening a jar of pickles. I turned it upside down on the counter to smack it so as to break the seal…makes it easier to open….the jar slipped on the counter and rammed full force into the lowest rib. But the good thing for you and me is that we are alive. And will heal with time. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers dear one. Please take care of yourself. I’ll be thinking of you. Hugs and love, Robin
