The last post for Lover’s letters

2_love-letter.jpg Writers of romantic letters have suffered an emotional blow to the heart – the post office in a village called Lover is to close.

The branch deals with thousands of Valentine’s cards and other amorous correspondence from people who get the word LOVER – pronounced Louver – stamped on the envelope.

Anne Noble, who runs the Wiltshire post office, said: ‘I used to have a heart-shaped stamp and would personally stamp them all.’
