Given the esthetics and economics of the high-end fashion industry, it seems unlikely that the big-name designers are going to take the plunge into environmentally conscious clothing any time soon. But a handful of younger designers–hip, sassy, smart, and deeply concerned about the future of the planet–are making the move toward producing duds that are both chic and sustainable.
